300 weeks of Flourishing

300 Weeks of Flourishing

A thank-you, a milestone, and a gift for the planet

Three hundred.
That’s how many Flourishing Fridays have now made their way into the world. When I first began this weekly practice, I had no idea it would grow into a community, a rhythm, and a shared language for caring for ourselves and the planet at the same time.

This post is both a celebration and a thank-you — and then, as always, an invitation to act.

Gratitude, first and always

Nothing about Flourishing has been a solo endeavour.

To my husband AJ — thank you for walking alongside this work in all the ways that matter: through the long conversations, the behind-the-scenes support, the shared values, and the daily living-out of what it means to care for people and place.

To my business besties, friends, and family: thank you for the encouragement, the listening, the laughter, the thoughtful questions, and the steady belief that this work matters — even (and especially) when it’s slow, complex, or just hard.

To those I’ve had the privilege to work with, alongside, and for — every collaboration has shaped my thinking and sharpened my practice. I learn and grow in each and every interaction, and I am deeply grateful for the trust you place in me.
And yes — Lauren, you know who you are.

To everyone who has welcomed me into your lives — your inbox, your ear, your car rides, your kitchen tables, your walks — thank you. It is no small thing to be invited into someone’s daily world, even virtually.

To my Eco-Impact Academy students: you are a gift to the world. What you are growing may still feel like a small sprout emerging from the soil, but I see strong roots and real direction. There is so much potential ahead, and you are already rising to meet it.

To my Gaia Retreat co-creators, Charlotte and Liliane: thank you for the harmony, trust, and depth we bring to one another’s work. We continue to find meaning in our distinct approaches — and in how they come together to create something more powerful and sacred than any one of us alone could offer.

And to the women of the Gaia retreats: you are beautiful in your insight, your purpose, and the way you show up — for yourselves and for one another. Each gathering in an urban nature space is richer because of what you bring.

I also want to extend a sincere thank-you to the organizations, community members, and deeply dedicated people who have chosen to work with me through the consulting arm of my business. It is a privilege to be invited into your real, on-the-ground projects — the ones that require patience, trust, collaboration, and care.

Thank you for committing time, energy, and courage to work that is often complex and rarely simple. Thank you for choosing to bring more environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and long-term thinking into your organizations and communities through our shared efforts. I am continually inspired by your commitment to doing meaningful work where it matters most — in real places, with real people, creating tangible change.

A gift — for you, for the world, and (yes) for me

To honour this 300th Flourishing Friday, I have one simple wish:

That each of you chooses a few of the following ten practices — not all of them, not perfectly — but intentionally.
As a gift to yourself.
As a gift to the world.
And, perhaps selfishly, as a gift to me — because this is the work I believe in most.

What follows is adapted from Ten Ways to Show You Love the Planet — ideas meant to be lived, not mastered.

Ten ways to show you love the planet

1. Remember that you are a being of nature

You are not separate from the Earth — you are sustained by it. Every breath, every sip of water, every meal is an act of relationship. Let that awareness gently guide your choices.

2. Live lighter — as if it matters (because it does)

Ask yourself: What would “enough” look like here?
Living lighter isn’t about deprivation; it’s about reducing harm and, where possible, choosing restoration over extraction.

3. Make your money matter

Your spending, donations, and investments are signals to the world about what you value. Support durability, fairness, and life-affirming systems wherever you can.

4. Give time and experiences, not just things

Memories outlast objects. Shared experiences deepen relationships and leave a much smaller footprint — emotionally and environmentally.

5. Eat like you’re connected to the Earth

Food is one of our most direct relationships with the planet. Eating more plants, choosing local and seasonal foods, and wasting less all support healthier bodies and healthier ecosystems — a beautiful alignment.

6. See plastic for what it is

A brief convenience with a very long legacy. Reduce it where you can, refuse it where possible, and advocate for better systems so the burden doesn’t fall solely on individuals.

7. Choose active and low-impact ways of getting around

Walking, cycling, public transit, and car-sharing reduce emissions while reconnecting us to our bodies and our communities. Even swapping one regular car trip a week can have ripple effects for health, climate, and well-being.

8. Help a child connect with nature

Wonder is contagious. Share your knowledge, your curiosity, and your time. These moments plant seeds far beyond what we can measure.

9. Unplug to truly connect

Stepping away from screens creates space to notice what’s around you — and within you. Presence is a powerful sustainability practice, helping us feel less rushed, more grounded, and more connected to the moment we’re actually living.

10. Do what you can — and let that be enough

You don’t need to do everything. Focus where your values, energy, and influence overlap, and trust that small, consistent actions taken with care really do matter — especially when many people are doing the same.

Flourishing, together

Flourishing has never been about doing more.
It has always been about living in relationship — with ourselves, with one another, and with the living world that holds us.

Thank you for being part of this community.
Thank you for caring.
Thank you for continuing to show up — thoughtfully, imperfectly, and with heart.

Here’s to the next season of learning, growing, and flourishing — together. 🌿
