A Little About Me

Sustainable-Living Solutions

I educate people on how to live well...for the planet, for our communities and for ourselves. These actions should go hand in hand and build on one another. I see these examples around me every day and want to share them with you so you can replicate them in your own life, and community, and together we CAN change the trajectory of human impact on the planet. I have been teaching environmental sustainability at the post-secondary level for over 20 years now. I have taught in MBA programs, Architecture, Community Health Sciences and Science. I have a deep-seated love of green buildings and sustainable community development. I have worked with governments, businesses, and community groups to build sustainability into our systems and decision-making. I know that sustainability is what we need, not just for the planet, but for ourselves.

Personal Wellbeing is Sustainable Living

Somewhere along the way, I realized that our own personal wellbeing is, and MUST be a part of our road to sustainable living. I had been involved in a research group on Education for Sustainable Wellbeing for many years, but it wasn't until my first cancer diagnosis in my early 40s that I began to truly appreciate the role of wellness in my day to day life. I became a member of a tribe of women who faced cancer. I learned to meditate, to make art, to try to let go of the little stuff, and other important life lessons. When I returned to work after cancer number two, and a long road, it dawned on me: healing the planet is healing ourselves, and healing our communities. It is, and it MUST be the same thing. The three are intertwined and there is a way forward that is full of life, and potential and healing for ourselves, our communities and for the earth.
